# Tigar Prima Tyre ## Heritage and Innovation Tigar, established in 1935 in Yugoslavia, began as a rubber manufacturing workshop producing rubber goods and footwear. Over the decades, it evolved into a prominent name in the tire industry, marking a major milestone with the production of its first radial passenger tire, the RD-201, in 1972. This innovation signaled Tigar’s transition into modern tire technology. ## Global Expansion The brand expanded internationally with the founding of Tigar-Americas in Jacksonville, USA, in 1981, strengthening its presence in the Western market. A new adhesive plant was later launched, enhancing production capabilities. In 1990, Tigar Europe Enterprise was established in London, further broadening its reach across continents. ## Strategic Partnership In 2001, Tigar entered a joint venture agreement with the Michelin Group, combining expertise to improve quality and competitiveness. This collaboration reflects Tigar’s commitment to innovation and excellence in tire manufacturing.
